About me

I am the Director of the Center for Evaluation & Research for STEM Equity (CERSE), formerly called the Center for Workforce Development-CWD at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. I completed my PhD in Sociology with a study of the sex segregation in undergraduate engineering majors.
My research interests span many areas, including the educational climate for undergraduate and graduate students, gender stratification in education and the workforce, and gender and families. I have even worked on some research on the social and ethical issues associated with emerging technologies such as nanotechnology.
My experience with program evaluation is also extensive. Check out the evaluation page for projects on which I have led evaluations.
